The last quarter was incredibly rewarding for Team CAPED as we celebrated our 12th anniversary alongside Cervical Cancer Prevention Day (CCPD). After two days of internal leadership workshops and strategic Advisory Council discussions, the spotlight shifted to our main event on May 21 at the India Habitat Centre.

CCPD 2026 brought together government leaders, public health experts, development partners, researchers, and community champions. Highlights of the event included:

  • Art as Advocacy: A captivating Bharatanatyam performance, “When Hope Finds Rhythm,” portrayed the journey from fear to resilience.
  • Evolving State Partnerships We were honoured to welcome Shri S. P. Jha (MD, NHM Jharkhand), Dr. Pushpa (Maternal Health & Training), and Dr. Ravi Raj (Oncologist, RIMS)   Their presence underscored the importance of government leadership and cross-sector collaboration in strengthening cancer prevention across Jharkhand.
  • Strategic Reflections: Insights from experts including Ex-IAS, Ms. Arti Ahuja, Public health expert, Dr. Raj Shankar Ghosh, and leadership coach Mr. Manish Puri on the need for courageous leadership and strong health systems.
  • Community Champions: “Stories from the Soil” highlighted grassroots men—fathers, husbands, and leaders—breaking stigmas and encouraging women to prioritize their health.
  • A New Roadmap: CAPED unveiled its strategic plan for the years ahead and honored the field teams turning that vision into reality.
