CAPED Joins WHO’s Cervical Cancer Elimination Day: Act Now for Women’s Health

On 17 November, CAPED joined in WHO’s World Cervical Cancer Elimination Day, a global movement dedicated to eradicating cervical cancer and protecting women and girls worldwide. The campaign emphasizes urgent action, highlighting the importance of HPV vaccination for girls, regular cervical cancer screening for women, and timely treatment for those affected.CAPED amplified this global message through a collaborative social media campaign with leading organizations, including the American Cancer Society (ACS), Cancer Foundation of India (CFI), and Beat Cervical Cancer (BCC). Together, these efforts focused on raising awareness, educating communities, and encouraging proactive steps toward prevention and early detection. By participating in this initiative, CAPED reinforced its commitment to achieving the 90-70-90 targets: vaccinating 90% of girls against HPV, screening 70% of women, and treating 90% of women diagnosed with cervical cancer. Through advocacy, awareness campaigns, and partnerships, CAPED continues to work toward a world where cervical cancer is eliminated, and women and girls can live healthier, empowered lives.
